Which adjustment knobs and locking pins can you find here?

This category includes various knobs, levers and pins for adjusting and securing fitness equipment. These include saddle knobs for fitness bikes, adjustment knobs for workout benches, locking pins for strength equipment and clamping knobs for adjustable frame components.

What is the difference between an adjustment knob and a locking pin?

An adjustment knob is generally tightened to clamp a component or reduce play. A locking pin enters a hole and secures a selected position. Pop-pins often combine both functions: the pin is pulled out to adjust the component, then returns into one of the available holes.

Are adjustment knobs universal?

Adjustment knobs and locking pins are usually not universal. Differences in threading, pin diameter, pin length, spring mechanism and housing determine whether a component fits. Even knobs that look almost identical may therefore not be interchangeable.

How do you determine which knob or pin you need?

First check the fitness machine’s brand and model number. Then compare the overall length, diameter, thread and shape of the existing component. Also check its position and function, such as saddle adjustment, angle adjustment or frame locking. A part number from the manual or exploded diagram provides the most reliable check.

When should you replace an adjustment knob?

Replacement may be needed if a knob is cracked, its thread is damaged or a locking pin no longer engages correctly in the hole. A worn spring mechanism may also prevent a pop-pin from locking reliably. Do not use the fitness machine if an adjustable component cannot be secured firmly.

Adjustment knob or resistance knob?

Not every rotary knob serves the same purpose. Some lock an adjustable component, while others control training resistance or braking force. Check not only the shape but also the application. A resistance knob may connect to a cable or braking mechanism and is not automatically interchangeable with a standard adjustment knob.

Installing and checking safely

Install the replacement component in the same way as the original and check that the pin locks fully or the knob clamps firmly. Test adjustment without a load first. If the thread, frame hole or adjustable tube is damaged, replacing only the knob may not be enough.
